About Dianna Wright

The writer was always there. She simply found her way back.

I write for people who have ever wondered whether the story they inherited is the only story available to them.

I have spent much of my life helping other people find the words for who they are. Somewhere along the way, I began listening more closely to the stories waiting inside me.

Writing was never a sudden arrival. It lived quietly beneath the full years of raising three sons, building a career in marketing, navigating change, and becoming the person everyone could count on. The ideas remained, even when life left little room for them. They waited in notebooks, half-finished pages, and the back of my mind.

My professional life taught me to look past the surface. Through Wright Strategy Services, I help small business owners clarify their message, tell their story, and find the people who need what they offer. That same instinct follows me into every book: listen carefully, question the familiar explanation, and keep going until something honest appears.

A new chapter

Becoming a published author after 50 was not a reinvention. It was a return.

There is a freedom that comes with reaching a point in life when the opinions of people you care about can still matter without ruling your world. The ideas planted years ago finally began to take root. Instead of asking whether I was allowed to try, I began asking why I was still waiting.

I discovered more of myself after 50, not because my younger self was inauthentic, but because I finally had the courage and space to hear my own voice clearly. Returning to writing became part of that discovery. One book led to another, then another, each revealing a different part of what I had been carrying.

One voice, many shelves

Different genres feed different parts of me.

01

Personal growth & spirituality

These books explore identity, inherited belief, grace, inner wisdom, and what remains when fear no longer tells the story.

02

Suspense, mystery & speculative fiction

These stories follow hidden motives, manipulated truths, complicated people, and the unsettling moment when the impossible becomes personal.

03

Contemporary fiction

These novels stay close to the human heart: family, survival, memory, resilience, and the truths we finally choose to carry.

Where I return

Stillness, trees, water, and the first light of morning.

I live in Maryland, where some of my clearest thinking happens in the quiet of the woods, near the water, or while watching the day begin. Those moments remind me that the truest things are rarely loud. My books may travel through very different worlds, but they keep returning to the same questions: What lies beneath the story we have been told? What is true when fear falls away? And who might we become if we finally trust ourselves enough to find out?
